Rose Milligan, 89, of Chattanooga died on Tuesday, June 28. She was born in River Head, New York, daughter of the late Ernest F. and Minnie Hoffman Stopf, and had lived most of her life in Chattanooga.
She was a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church and the Margaret Helms Sunday School Class.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Burton M. Milligan, Sr., two sisters, Anna Christine Wade and Virginia Uplinger, a brother, Ernest A. Stopf, and a son-in-law, James Maples.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Maples; two sons, Gary Milligan and Burton Milligan, Jr.; her grandson, Scott Maples, all of Chattanooga; two sisters, June Cummings of Seaford, Delaware and Victoria Clawson of Warrenton, Virginia.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
