Roy was a Medical Technologist and worked at T.C. Thompson Children’s, Red Bank, North Park and Memorial Hospitals. He was also very involved in the Boy Scouts in Chattanooga, having served Pack 3266 at Burks United Methodist Church and Troop 223 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Rice and Mayme Claiborne, a sister, Mary Kirk and an infant son, Lucas Claiborne.
Survivors include Tonya Claiborne, his wife of 16 years; sons Tony (Kristi) Angevine; Ben and Sean Claiborne; a granddaughter, Roslyn May Angevine and his siblings, Paul Claiborne, Barbara Ford and Betty Watson.
The family will receive friends from 4 PM to 7 PM this evening (Sunday) at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, with a Celebration of Life service at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Boy Scouts, either Pack 3266 at Burks United Methodist Church, 6433 Hixson Pike Hixson, TN 37343 or Troop 223 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN. 37415.
