Roy Lee “Butch” McGill, 66, of Chattanooga died Tuesday, June 2, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reathel McGill; step-mother, Rose McGill; brothers, Dennis McGill, Ricky Allen McGill, and Bobby McGill.
He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrison, where he drove the church van bringing children to church. Mr. McGill was a devoted employee of 46 years at Five Star Food Service. He enjoyed playing golf. He was a NASCAR fan, going to Talladega at least once a year. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons, Main Man and Little Man.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pam McGill; daughter, Nichole (Austin) Gailer; grandsons, Trent “Main Man” McCary, and Isaiah “Little Man” Gailer; father, John B . McGill, Sr.; brothers, David (Margaret) McGill, Jeff (Michelle) McGill, Jim McGill, Sr, John B. McGill, Jr., Terry McGill, and Jerry McGill; sister, Judy Price; sister-in-law, Judith McGill; mother-in-law, Ozadell Godwin; sister-in-laws, Alanna Godwin, and Andrea Willie; brother-in-law, Roger (Debbie) Godwin; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 Friday, June 5 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Todd McElyea and Pastor Ken Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4-8 at the funeral home, following covid 19 guidelines.
