My name is Franklin Johns. My family used to live at 2753 Forest Road, located in the Kings Point Community of Chattanooga. The Pickett family lived across the street from us for several years during my youth. I fondly recall all the Pickett family members as well as Bert's mother and father. A very nice family and excellent neighbors. I'm so sorry to hear of Bert passing away. Hope Ruth, Pat and Joe are all okay and doing well.

I was a childhood friend of Jimmy and Joey and remember going to the Pickett Thickett farm in the early 70's for weekend stays.
I remember Granny , Billie Jean and getting to ride 3-wheelers and motor cycles during our visits.
I remember "Burt" teaching us (me) how to work/help in the chicken houses and getting eggs daily or maybe twice daily. I remember being scared to pull the hen out of the bin to get the eggs and Burt teaching me and ensuring me it doesn't hurt to get pecked . In the evenings Jimmy and I would ride with Burt into the field and feed the cows and I remember Burt talking to the cattle like they were friends and them coming up to him to get there food.
I still get to talk to Mike Cobble (not sure the relationship) from time to time but it's been many years since I've talked to Jimmy or Joey.
Sad to hear of Mr. Pickett's passing but do have fond memory's of those childhood days and some small but life lessons I learn and remember.
Please tell Jimmy and Joey hello for me.
