April 15, 1953October 29, 2018

Sandra Elizabeth Weekley Murillo, age 65, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018.

Born in Greenville, SC to Edna Weekley and the late Harold Weekley, Sandra grew up in the Chattanooga area. Although born deaf, Sandra overcame many obstacles that life threw at her with the help of very supportive family and many friends along the way. She graduated from the Tennessee School for the Deaf and earned an Associates Degree from Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA. College is where she met and married her late husband, Wilfredo Murillo.

Sandra was an independent woman who worked diligently at every job. She worked with the United Way of Greater Chattanooga and AmSouth Bank until leaving to dedicate her time to her family. She loved watching soccer, solving crosswords, working jigsaw puzzles and visiting with those she cared most about, including her 4 grandchildren that she loved more than anything. She recently spent a week in Hawaii with her immediate family who now, more than ever, cherish that time spent together.

Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Harold Weekley and her husband, Wilfredo Murillo.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Angela Murillo (Jake) Nye of Hixson, TN; son, Michael John (Justine Augeri) Murillo of Washington, DC; granddaughters Ashlyn and Ailey Nye of Hixson, TN and Simone Augeri Murillo of Washington, DC; grandson Sebastien Augeri Murillo of Washington, DC; mother, Edna Weekley; sisters Sherry (David) Church, Susan Weekley, Deanna Brown; brothers Rick (Karen) Weekley and Bob (Jackie) Weekley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

I've known Sandra ever since we were kids back then at the Speech n Hearing Ctr and we've been friends and known each other ever since then. Her Mother, Ester Weekly, is a very sweet n Humble Mother caring for all of her children, especially Sandra and Susan. She's made friends n easily to communicate whoever she talks to.
My wife Lana n I've helped her when she needed us. We will miss her dearly. We'll be praying for her sister, Susan n other members of her family, especially Angie, her daughter and Son, Michael, in whom she cherishes.
Love, Steve n Lana Farmer

My sincere condolence to the Sandra Murillo family for their loss. I never had the privilege of meeting Sandra, but I feel I knew her through her late husband, Wilfred, who was an associate at Provident Life for a number of years. Sandra was an amazing woman and mother. Also, my condolence to Edna Weekly for the loss of a daughter. God is with you in your time of sorrow.
