Born in Huntington, West Virginia on June 21, 1942, Sara was the child of Howell and Arian (Aplin) Snodgrass. Sara graduated from Chattanooga High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
The greatest joy in Sara’s life was being a mother to her two daughters, Justine and Clea Barth. Sara also enjoyed painting, photography, traveling, and cooking.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved oldest daughter, Justine LeAnna Barth, her brother-in-law Richard Mead, and her niece Erica Mead. She is survived by her loving youngest daughter, Clea Christina Barth of Bound Brook, New Jersey; her sister, Arian Mead of Kennesaw, Georgia; and her brother, Howell Snodgrass, along with sister-in-law Louise Snodgrass and nephew Todd Snodgrass, all of Knoxville, Tennessee.
A private graveside service will be held on June 22, 2026, at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
