Sarah Imogene Chauncey Kinser

Sarah Imogene "Jean" Kinser left her earthly home Tuesday September 5, 2023 at 3:15, to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was the wife of Jack T. Kinser Sr. and the Mother of J. Thomas "Tom" Kinser, Jr. Born in 1931, the daughter of Horace and Elizabeth Chauncey. She was a graduate of Red Bank High School and attended the University of Chattanooga, where she was a member of the school bands. In addition, she played in the Scenic City Concert Band for many years and the American Legion Dance Band until retiring just recently.

She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga and served as Bookkeeper from 1980-1993. She and her husband were active members of FPC's "It's a Wonderful Life "Ministry and enjoyed many years of traveling with Christian friends, and were members of Sam Clyatt S.S. Class.

In addition to her Parents, she was predeceased by her Sisters, Dorothy Duff, Norine Jackson, brother, Reverend H. Doyle Chauncey, daughter in law, Mona Evans Kinser.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 70 years, Jack T. Kinser and son Tom (Tisherrie) Kinser, sister, Audrey Conner, sister in law, Sharon Chauncey, granddaughters, Courtney Kristiansen, Sydney Kinser. One great-granddaughter, Mona Karin Kristiansen. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday, September 15 and from 12-1 Saturday, September 16 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 Saturday, September 16 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Ehlers officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
