Scott, you taught me a lot. Mostly by your own example. You kept healthy boundaries, but when you could, you were more than willing to be a support to those who were struggling. I am glad I got to know you, especially at Surrender Under the Stars, where your light seemed to shine the brightest. You will definitely be missed. I'm glad for the time that I got to know you. See you again when it's time. Big hug to you.

Scott, what can I say. It’s been years since we spoke but so many memories of nothing but laughter and you playing your guitar. The way you would talk about your niece or what job you were doing at that time. You always were so optimistic and upbeat. We would discuss your struggles and what haunted you, but you by far were a wonderful person and friend. I wish your battle could have been won and we were talking face to face. But my heart knows you’re no longer struggling with an awful demon but smiling ear to ear just waiting on all of us that loves you to come join you. You will never be forgotten and I will see you again!

Like many here, I’m in complete shock at Scott’s untimely passing. Though we haven’t worked together for over 20 years, Scott’s kind and warm heart still make an impression on me. Scott was never one to poke fun at someone at their expense and I always admired him for that. I’m grateful that we remained connected on Facebook so I could keep his positivity as a guide light.

Rest In Peace, my friend.

You left this place better than you found it.

Scott helped me find closure in my mothers addiction without even realizing that he had through his knowledgable talks involving addiction. It was a blessing to have been able to hear Scott's last talk at Chattanooga State. He gave me the closure I desperately searched for and never thought I would receive, because of that I will always be thankful for Scott. He was an amazing person who changed lives.
