Sue Hamrick

Alice Sue Hamrick (Lee), 86, of Hixson Tennessee, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Born April 15, 1937 in McMinn County, Tennessee, Sue was the youngest of nine children of the late Louis Sylvester and Johnnie Bradshaw Lee.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence H. Hamrick, her brothers L.S. Jr and Jack Lee, and her sisters Ruth Lee Hamilton, Laura Blanche Lee Witt, Helen Lee Pruitt, Martha Lee Turner, Joanne Lee Wallace, and Jane Lee.

She is survived by her daughter Debra L. (Mike) Carnes and by her son John Michael (Deidra) Hamrick. Her grandsons Nick (Lesa) Carnes, Chris (Heather) Carnes, and Hunter Jackson, and granddaughters Kayla (Ryan) Gilmer, Taylor Hart, and McClain (Jacob) Tallent, and her 7 great grandchildren. She is also leaving behind an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sue held a special place in the hearts of her family, leaving behind countless treasured memories. Family was always at the center of Sue’s world. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the honor of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace knowing that she made this world a brighter place for having been a part of it.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, August 25, 2023 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday August 25, 2023 in the chapel with Chaplain Ed Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
