Sylvan “Bos” Roe Boswell was born on August 23, 1916, in Travelers Rest South Carolina. He married Frances Hawkins, January 15, 1937, and was married for 68 years. He was retired from Central Bank of Miami Florida, where he and Frances resided for more than 50 years before moving to Chattanooga in 1990.
He was an avid hunter, and outdoorsman, with a love for the everglades. His enthusiasm for outdoor sports was amazing. He was involved with hydroplane racing for years, with many victories including the 1966 Orange Bowl Regatta. He was a true racer at heart beginning with motorcycles, cars and hydroplanes. He was one of the most loyal Dale Earnhardt Sr. fans, and rarely missed watching a race.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances, and brothers Everett and Ray Boswell. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Martin Perez, sister, Ramona (Art) Finkelman, nephew, Rhett (Sue) Boswell, nieces, Rita (Gary) Haskew, Kathy (Charles) Hogg, Janie Finkelman, and several great nieces and nephews, and his best friends, Jimmy and Linda Lauderdale.
We want to give a warm thank you to his caregiver, Betty Boren and her Christian dedication in these last years of care she gave to him.
