Teresa Haynes of Trenton, Georgia sadly passed away after a courageous twenty-year battle with cancer on July 29, 2026, at 71 years old. She was born on November 2, 1954, to Henry and Margaret Russell. She is the second oldest of four siblings including her brothers Johnny and Willie, and sister Linda.
She was married to her love and best friend James for 49 years and shared the same enjoyments in life. They shared the same love of country music on their drives through the mountains to various parks and casino spots. She could always be found at her favorite Buffalo slot machines. Her absolute love of all animals frequently carried them to the Smoky Mountains, where she was even willing to pet the bears. Teresa's heart remained open for any animal, driving her to rescue countless over the years. She also gained thrills with her longtime hobby of finding and selling trinkets and treasures in online marketplaces. Teresa was known for living her life full of joy, being a loving mom to her son Jason, and carrying on with her positive attitude, infectious laughter, and joking nature.
Teresa will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband James, son Jason, and three stepdaughter's, Renee, Kim, and Jenny. She also leaves behind her brother Johnny (Jean) Russell, sister Linda (Steve) Hope and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret, and her youngest brother, Willie.
A Celebration of Teresa's life will be held at Edgewood Baptist Church located at 11041 Highway 11, Trenton, GA. Saturday August 8, 2026, from 1-3PM.
