A resident of Hixson, Tennessee, Thomas was known for his generous, kind-hearted, and humorous nature. His personal qualities such as honesty, resilience, and selflessness, along with his devotion to family and work, shaped his remarkable life.
Raised in a military family, Thomas lived all over the country, including in California, Texas, Ohio, Georgia, and Louisiana. He graduated from Haughton High School in Haughton, Louisiana, and attended Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. He served three years in the United States Army as Field Artillery Personnel at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal with Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Field Artillery.
Thomas worked as a maintenance mechanic and manager in the paper and corrugate industry, a testament to his hard-working spirit and his exceptional ability to fix anything. His passions included fishing, hunting, and archery, and he was always enthusiastic about making people laugh.
A devoted member of his community, Tommy came to Christ and was baptized at the age of 47. He was always eager to lend a helping hand, often assisting others with vehicle and home repairs. His charitable contributions and endeavors reflected his selfless nature.
