A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Floyd was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) where he worked at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant for over 30 years. He was also a long term member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) where he served numerous roles including Business Manager of the Local 721.
Tommy was a longtime member of Silverdale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Howard Floyd Sr and Thelma Judy Floyd.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Floyd; son, Robby (Ashley) Floyd; sister, Robin (Stephanie) Floyd; son, Jeff (Barbara) Barnette of Spring Hill, TN, six grandchildren, Taylor and Haleigh Floyd, William and Anna Barnette, and Piper and Lily Joseph.
Visitation will be 11AM – 2PM on Friday January 24, 2025 At Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, 5401 Hwy. 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Mausoleum entombment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens will occur immediately after the service.
