

Timothy Scott Baker, 47, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at his home. He was born on August 11, 1965 in Opelika, Alabama to Terry and Monona Baker. As a young man, Tim excelled in athletics, lettering in five sports while at Hixson High School. As an adult, he spent his 27 year career at UNUM in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Tim was a member of Red Bank Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a beloved father, proud of his two daughters, Jordan and Jade and was often heard telling others about their accomplishments in school and sports. Jordan is a Freshman at Erskine College in South Carolina and Jade is a Sophomore at CCS. He loved his family and friends, was fiercely loyal to them, and was always first to support them in times of need. A favorite pastime was golfing with his brothers, friends, and daughters. Tim is survived by his loving family, Karen Prosser Baker (wife), Jordan and Jade Baker (daughters, ages 19 & 15), Terry W. and Monona Baker, Sr. (parents), Terry Wayne, Jr. (Angela) Baker, David (Deanna) Baker, and Mike (Dawn) Baker (brothers), five nephews and five nieces, and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vikki Sue Baker, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. James H. Vickers and Mr. and Mrs. Euther Baker.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 8pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, Hixson, TN, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Funeral services for Tim will be held in the Chapel on Thursday , October 4, 2012 at 11:30 AM He will be laid to rest at Chattanooga Memorial Cemetery in Hixson, TN following the service.
