Tommy was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee July 22, 1933 to his parents Thomas and Audrey Vandergriff. He worked at Combustion for 32 years before retiring. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed collecting and working on cars. He enjoyed spending his free time with his grandchildren, traveling, camping, and sharing stories of his time in Germany with the army.
He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Audrey Vandergriff, his sister Wilma, his brother Quincy, and his daughter Cathy.
In addition to his life partner of 38 years, Norma, survivors include his siblings Vivian, Arwilda and Nathan, his daughter Rhonda, and grandchildren Adam, Victoria and Peyton.
The family will receive friends from 11-12 Monday, September 25, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home followed by funeral services at noon. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
