

W. H. “Bill” Wilson, Jr. 87, died June 5, 2017 from heart complications. Bill was born in Crossville, Tennessee January 6, 1930 to W. H. Wilson, Sr. and Elsie Barnwell Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mary Swafford of Crossville. Bill graduated from Cumberland County High School and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served 3 years as a medic during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Navy, Bill moved to Chattanooga to work for McKessou and Robbins and then worked for Sears and Roebuck, where he retired after 30 years of service. Bill attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hixson, Tennessee.
Bill is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Lou Wilson; son, Larry (Charlotte) Wilson; grandchildren, Missy (Pat) Brumlow, and Dale (Mamie) Wilson; great grandchildren, Claire (Josh) Massey, Zach Wilson, Drew Hawkins, Memorie Hall, Madisen Wilson, Zoey Wilson, and A.J. Brumlow; great grandson, Sawyer Massey. Bill is also survived by many nephews, nieces and in-laws.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 4-7 Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
Funeral services will be 7:00 Wednesday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will be 10:30 Thursday in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons, Dale, Zach, Drew, Pat, and Josh.
