Mr. Wayne Stephen Everett Sr., 89, transferred his address from Chattanooga to the golden streets of Heaven on October 16, 2025, where he was united with his Lord and Savior and his wife, Madeline. Wayne was born in Pikeville, TN on January 22, 1936. He retired from the State of Tennessee as an environmental manager. He was an active member of Soddy First Baptist Church. He served for many years as a Sunday School teacher and deacon, a well as many other ministries, both at North Red Bank Baptist Church and later at Soddy First Baptist. He was a member of Red Bank Lions Club, National Environmental Health Association, Southern Baptist Convention and other organizations over the years.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Earl Everett and Bessie Corder Everett; wife, Madeline Everett; sister, Aileen Jackson; daughter, Eugenia Hurst; and son, Todd Everett.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Steve (Melanie) Everett and Darryl (Debbie) Everett; sister Alwayna Everett; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22nd from 4-8 pm and Thursday, October 23rd from 11:30 am- 1:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel at 1 pm Thursday with Pastor Brandon Johns officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
