He was born July 27, 1924 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Wilbur and Willmay (Rock) Stone.
Stoney was preceded in death by his wife of almost 75 years, Doris (Burch) Stone. They were married on July 27, 1946 in Loves Park, Illinois.
He served in the Army during WWII and was stationed in the Pacific. He enjoyed playing golf well into his 90’s and he and Doris loved to travel in retirement.
Survivors include children, Ken (Joyce) Stone of Sun City West, AZ, Sandy Mowery of Rock Hill, SC and Dan (Helen) Stone of Dunlap, TN, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
