Born August 8, 1936, in Rome, Georgia, Fred was a loving husband, faithful father and devoted friend who loved baseball, golf and playing the guitar. He attended the Darlington School and Auburn University on an athletic scholarships.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne Kimbrough Burkhalter; daughter, Lisa Burke (Patrick) of Princeton, NJ; sons Bill Burkhalter of Nashville and Brad Burkhalter of Ringgold, Georgia; and four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hixson on Saturday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m.
