He was a retired teacher, having taught at Choate School in Wallingford, Connecticut for 32 years, and was the high school basketball coach there for 12 years. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church.
He was an avid stamp collector and loved all sports events, especially basketball and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne LaGanke. Survivors are two sons and daughters in law, Clark (Lisa) LaGanke of Raleigh, N.C., Chris (Mindy) LaGanke of Cullman, AL., and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, February 8, at St. Paul Episcopal Church with the Rev. Suzanne Smitherman officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:15 until 2 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
