William "Willie" Russell of Chattanooga, TN sadly passed away on May 18, 2026, at 63 years old. Willie was born to his parents Henry and Margaret Russell on September 3, 1962. He attended Kirkman High School before becoming an automotive technician which led him to opening Brothers Automotive alongside his brother Johnny Russell.
He will be remembered by those that knew him as a man with a lot of love in his heart. His love of cars drove him to be an excellent mechanic and painstakingly restore his beautiful 68 Dodge Charger. His love of his customers allowed his business to succeed for the past 37 years. His love of traveling made family vacations, something he always looked forward to each year. He was a proud husband, father, and Poppa. His family will always remember his love, his dad jokes, the values he instilled in hard work, honesty, integrity, and how thrilled he was to be the first family member to hold his granddaughter Addison after she was born.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 44 years, Lucy, their two sons, William (Felicia) Russell and Corey (Jessica) Russell, and his granddaughter he lovingly called his "precious angel", Addison. He also leaves behind his brother Johnny (Jean) Russell, sisters Theresa (James) Haynes & Linda (Steve) Hope, several nieces, nephews, and in-laws whom he considered immediate family.
The family will be gathering and sharing stories with family and friends from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, May 23, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. There will be no services in our chapel for Willie
