Abel worked as an Engineer for Shell Oil retiring after 35 years of service and then continued to work for another 8 years with AT&T. Abel had several passions, among these were travelling, hiking, photography, playing video games, trivia, chess and sports.
Abel is preceded in death by his mother; Rosa and two siblings; J. Alex Morales and Rosie Morales. He is survived by his sister, Olga Salazar (Sam Rangel), his brother, Arturo Morales (Suzanne) and his sister-in-law, Nellie Morales. Also left to cherish memory are several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; Olga L. Castanon, Ian A. Morales, Blanca E. Morales, Alexandra L. Salazar, Victoria A. Usry, Nina E. Morales, Eric N. Morales, and Sara I. Morales.
Family will be receiving friends on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary service will begin at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011 with the interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Arturo Morales, Ian Morales, Eric Morales, Sam Rangel, Mike Castanon and Cody Usry.
