Ada V. Smith-Culpepper, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. Born on July 17, 1927, in New Willard, Texas, Ada grew up in Cleveland, where she built a life filled with love, hard work, and cherished memories.
She and Johnny D. Culpepper , the love of her life married in Cleveland, Tx in the year of 1947. A move to San Jacinto, Tx then to Houston, together they shared years of happiness in raising their two children Beverly and Jerry.
Ada had an incredible work ethic, dedicating much of her career to Pilgrim’s Cleaner and later managing Cypresswood trailer park, where she resided for many years, with the same commitment and care she showed in all aspects of her life.
A woman of many passions, Ada found joy in gardening, where she cultivated both plants and a deep sense of peace. She had a love for the rodeo, drawn to its excitement and tradition. An avid reader, she spent countless hours lost in the pages of her favorite books. However, nothing meant more to her than her family, who she loved.
If anything could come close to her love for family, it was her devotion to the Houston Texans. A proud season ticket holder, Ada rarely missed a game, whether cheering from the stands or from the comfort of her home.
Ada’s kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
