On July 1, 1984, a beautiful, bouncing baby girl named Alfredia Antoinette Banks was born to parents Alfred & Audrey Banks in Houston, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Dr. D.R. Whiteside of Magnolia Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
Alfredia served under her father Dr. Alfred E. Banks as a faithful member of KMBC, The Temple of Glory located in Kendleton, Texas. She served in the choir, lead praise & worship service, created the prayer line, leader of the Youth Church Group, and she constantly organized various fundraisers, church outings and events.
She was licensed to preach under her father Dr. Alfred E. Banks on July 27, 2014, and later ordained by her father as well on November 1, 2015.
Alfredia decided to take her ministry to the next level and on Feb. 19th, 2017, she received her Bachelor of Theology under the leadership of Rev. E.D. Thornton at the Gospel Ministry Outreach School. Alfredia was passionate about helping others, in and out of Church. She also supported her community as well. She was selfless in everything she did, and Her generous heart strived to help as many others as she could. Her heart stretched from children, the disabled, senior citizens and the also the homeless population. She founded the “Overcomers” a ministry dedicated to providing food and bare necessities to the homeless in Houston.
Alfredia didn’t have any other biological children of her own however, she was actively involved in all the lives her nieces and nephews as a mother figure and she also adopted her own host of godchildren.
On March 28th, 2021, Alfredia transitioned from labor to reward. Alfredia spent her life striving to further her ministry and keep God first. She lived to support and love her family, and she wanted to help those in need. She has made a huge impact in countless lives, and her presence and genuine kind spirit will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving parents, Dr. Alfred E. Banks, First Lady Audrey Gail Banks, her maternal grandmother Shirley Ann Alexander, her sisters Audrey Provo (Darrell), Shamarian Banks Harris, Sharita Banks (Demarcus), her two brothers, Javarus Johnson and John Banks, her brothers in love Adreik Harris Sr., Earl Shelton, Rev. Desmond Gordon, her nieces and nephews, Adreik Jr., Kennedy, Darrian, Darrell Jr., Ashtun, Collin, De’reon, Da’Leeya, E’lin, Chelsia, Darrielle’ & a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, godchildren and friends.
