

Allie B. Webb Allen died peacefully at home in Houston, Texas on January 3, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Allie W. and Richard S. Webb, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky. Allie graduated from Henry Clay High School and the University of Kentucky. Allie’s first delight was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. In Houston, Allie was an active member of Memorial Drive Baptist Church. She taught at River Oaks Baptist School for twenty-four years. Allie was also a volunteer at Memorial Hermann Hospital and Memorial Auxiliary Ministries.
Her husband, Leonard B. Allen, Jr., a decorated World War II Veteran, precedes Allie in death. She is also preceded in death by a son, Richard Webb Allen, her sisters Julia Catherine Raines, Mary Gunn Denny, Mildred Moore, and Ann Newberry, and her brother Richard S. Webb III.
Allie is survived by her children Leonard “Barry” Allen of St. Marys, Georgia, and Brooke (Keever) Wallace of Houston, Texas. She is survived by her grandchildren William B. Allen of Brenham, Texas, Angel (Martin) Nicholas of Kaufman, Texas, Jennifer A. (Brendan) O’Dowd of Alexandria, Virginia, Julia Wallace of Houston, Texas, Eileen (Sean) Nelson of Houston, Texas, and Jesse (Denisse) Wallace of Round Rock, Texas, as well as her sister-in-law Pat Webb of Lexington. Allie also leaves four great grandchildren and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at Memorial Drive Baptist Church, 325 Piney Point Dr., Houston, Texas, at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Additional services were under the direction of Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington, Kentucky, who arranged graveside services to be conducted by Allie’s cousin, Dr. Charles Midkiff, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Lexington Cemetery.
