Alvin Fredrick Baumgartner, 90 years old, of Anderson, Texas passed away on Monday, July 12th, 2021. A native to the Houston area, Alvin was born in Westfield, Texas on August 22, 1930 to Reinhold and Meta (Mueller) Baumgartner.
He spent time in the Army during the Korean conflict and was a proud Veteran. Alvin was often found under the hood of a car, or fixing machines as he ran his own mechanic shop. After closing his mechanic shop he had a successful connecting rod business until he retired. In his spare time, Alvin was often by the lake with his fishing pole waiting for the next big catch or off on a hunting trip with his family. Above all else, Alvin loved his family fiercely and was a man of God and walked in faith throughout his life. He was a founding member of the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran in Spring, Texas where he celebrated over fifty years as the church’s president and most recently, he became a founding member of Our Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran in Conroe, Texas.
Alvin found love early in his life and married Vivian Priesmeyer. From their marriage they had two daughters, Dianne and Cindi.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Reinhold and Meta; his first wife Vivian; siblings Evelyn Fesler, Erwin Baumgartner, Harold Baumgartner and Melbourne Baumgartner.
Left to honor his legacy is his wife of twenty-one years, Martha Ann Kimich; daughters Dianne Antonzcak and Cindi Rogers; and siblings Cora (George) Berry of Westfield, Texas, Lillian Hill of Spring, Texas, Raymond Baumgartner of Montgomery, Texas and Gloria(Arnold) Ziccardi of Millsboro, Delaware; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Visitation for Alvin will be held on Tuesday, July 20th from 10am to 12pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home 13102 North Freeway Houston, Texas 77060 with the Funeral Service and Rendering of Military Honors to immediately follow. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Yargo, Vanell Smith, Dale Kimich, Walter Kimich, Jr., Miles Rogers and Nathan Noeldner. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Yargo and Damian Toth.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alvin’s honor can be made to Old Shepard Evangelical Lutheran Church (6704 FM 2819 Road Anderson, Texas 77830).
