Alvin Richard Roberts, Jr. was born on December 20, 1980 to his loving parents, Alvin and Patricia Roberts, Sr. in Dallas, Texas. He was the youngest of three children. Richard was introduced to the Lord in the early stages of his life. His parents were active members in the church and encouraged their children to be active members as well. He joined Brentwood Baptist Church and was a participant in Children’s Church and Sunday School. It was here that he accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 11. In 2007 he became a member of The Fountain of Praise. After joining, his personal connection, love for worship and faith in Christ began to truly blossom. The young boy who was active in church with his parents had now chosen as a man to walk by faith with God. He became a regular at Sunday service and encouraged his family to attend as well. He was a devoted member and loved his pastor. He understood and believed in the message that Pastor Wright delivered each week and at times would bring visitors with him to attend service. He began to read frequently and became more immersed in the word. He attended services often and gradually a beautiful change in his spirit became visible. You would often see him with his Bible in hand, quoting scripture, praying and meditating. His consistent desire to want to learn more kept him on a quest of discovery. Richard's personal walk with the Lord was built on faith, love, and hope and he shared those principles with those around him. Richard was an outstanding athlete. He was strong, quick, and competitive. He was an All-Star Baseball Player for Brae-burn Little League. He also played Tennis and was a remarkable gymnast. He was often seen recreating stunts and try-ing new ways to improve his athletic skills. He was a proud football player for Louie Welch Middle School and Westbury Senior High School. He graduated from Contemporary Leaning Center High School in June, 2000. He continued his edu-cation and completed one year at Texas Southern University. Richard was an active member in his community. He believed in helping others and spread that belief to everyone within his inner circle. Giving back was a major part of who he was as a person. His community service endeavors be-gan when he was a young child where he participated in many activities with his mother’s community service organiza-tions. He brought that same love of helping into his adult life by encouraging others to assist with his community ser-vice ventures. He was not a follower, he always laid the path for greatness by spear-heading activities such as, bagging and passing out lunches for the homeless on Thanksgiving day, helping to organize and facilitate toy drives, and col-lecting and distributing monies to needy families. He also participated in several food and clothing drives during the holiday season. Richard was innovative, creative, and a go-getter. He nurtured a life-long dream by developing his passion for music into an art form. He worked very hard with his vision and accomplished something amazing when he created his first album. He was always on the forefront of something new with music and spent a lot of time in the studio with many talented artists and producers. For this reason, it's no surprise that he is very loved in the music industry. Richard was a loving father to his son Ace and daughter Ari’l. There was a certain look of joy on his face when he was with his children. He was a wonderful mentor and football coach for Ace. He spent a lot of time helping his son strengthen his skills in sports and would also spend time teaching and playing football with his nephews. One of his favorite things to do was throw the football to Ace for a long pass. He was delighted at the talent that he passed on to his first born. His beautiful daughter Ari was the light of his life. It is as if the world stopped when his baby girl was born. He spent countless hours with her, teaching her, talking with her, and growing that special father daughter bond with her. It was always a joyous occasion when he was with his beautiful children. He leaves to cherish his significant other and mother of his children, Ashley Wigrys; son, Ace Roberts; daughter, Ari’l Roberts; mother and father, Alvin and Patricia Roberts, Sr.; sisters Natosha Jones (DeAndre); Bianca Anderson (Cedric); half-sisters, Jennifer and Bethany Roberts; half-brother, Ryan Roberts; grandfather, Ervin Roberts; grandmother, Doro-thy Mathis; nephews Jacob Davis and Christopher Anderson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
