It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alvino Alvarado Sr., who left this world on August 11, 2026, at the age of 75. Alvino was born on August 5, 1951 in Houston, TX to Santiago Alvarado and Sara Alvarado (née Gutierrez).
Alvino was a devoted husband, loving father, caring and doting grandfather, and beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He also adored his cats deeply, who brought a steady presence of comfort and joy to his daily life. He is remembered for his integrity, the devotion he showed his family, the unwavering kindness he extended to others, and the quiet wisdom he shared. The warmth of his heart and the memories he created will be cherished forever by those fortunate enough to call him a friend.
Alvino is survived by his sons; Alvino Alvarado Jr. and Andrew Alvarado, his daughter-in-law; Henessy Alvarado (née Marquez), his granddaughters; Natalie A. Deleon, Adelynn P. Alvarado, and Alessandra O. Alvarado, his companion; Griselda Tamez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Alvino is preceded in death by his wife, Porfiria Alvarado (née Roque), his parents; Santiago and Sara, and his siblings; Manuel, Frank, Isabel, Raymond, Joe, Paul, Santiago Jr., Lorenzo, and Mary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Alvino’s honor to a local cat shelter, the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, or Alzheimer’s Association.
