Andre unexpectedly passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on September 25, 2026, at the age of 69. Though his passing was sudden and his time with us feels far too short, he lived a life filled with love, faith, and deep devotion to his family.
He was born in Morristown, New Jersey, on March 25, 1957, to his late parents, Dr. Arthur I. Ferrante and Anna DelMastro Ferrante. Andre spent his childhood in Florham Park, growing up with strong family roots and cherished summers along the Jersey Shore. He attended Holy Family Grammar School and later Hanover Park High School, graduating with the Class of 1975. A gifted athlete, he excelled in several sports, most notably football, where he played three years on the varsity team. His talent and dedication earned him an athletic scholarship to Susquehanna University, where he graduated in 1979.
In 1981, Andre began the Texas chapter of his life. Not long after arriving, he met Frances on St. Patrick’s Day that same year, and the two married in February 1983. Together they welcomed two sons, Thomas and Christopher, and built a life centered on faith, family, and tradition.
Andre took great pride in being a husband and father. He spent many years coaching his sons’ sports teams, helped run a local little league, and served on the school board at St. Ambrose Catholic School, where his sons attended grade school.
Professionally, Andre spent more than 18 years with TransCo/Williams in the oil and gas industry before continuing his career for more than 20 years with various companies in retail energy. He was known as a kind, respected colleague and leader who treated others with patience and respect.
Outside of work, Andre’s greatest joy was taking care of the people around him. He had a way of making others feel welcomed, heard, and comfortable, and he rarely put his own needs ahead of those of his family and friends.
Andre also enjoyed gardening, spending time at the beach in New Jersey and Florida, and following his favorite sports teams, including the Houston Oilers, New York Giants, Houston Astros, and Houston Texans. He loved to laugh and, even more, loved making others laugh.
Family traditions were especially important to Andre. He loved bringing everyone together for holidays, meals, and time spent simply being with one another. Cooking was often at the center of those gatherings, and he became well known for many of his signature dishes. Family often joked that no one could meticulously slice, dice, or meal prep quite as carefully as Andre.
Later in life, Andre discovered one of life's greatest blessings in becoming a grandfather. Each grandchild held a unique place in his heart, and he cherished the opportunity to guide, encourage, and celebrate them as they grew. The love he shared with his grandsons and granddaughters was a source of immense pride and joy throughout his later years.
Andre’s faith in God was a constant throughout his life and could be seen in the way he lived — through generosity, service, patience, and devotion to his family. His legacy will live on in the meals his family shares, the holidays they celebrate, the stories they tell, the laughter they carry forward, and the way they continue to care for one another.
Andre is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Frances Bua Ferrante, son Thomas and wife Lauren, son Chris and wife Alyson, grandchildren Matthew, Alexandra, Avery, Emma, and Brooks. He is also survived by siblings Arthur Ferrante and wife Barbara, Anne Ferrante-Ghosh and husband Jay, Antonia Ferrante-Gollob, and numerous loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Pallbearers are Mike Jelderks, Alan McLean, Michael Ragusa, Allen Dornak, Jimmy Bankston, Sam Ferrante, Lee Loria and Joe Mancuso.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Szydlik, Gerald Bogue and Benny Ragusa.
