Angelita Vargas Mireles

The life of Angelita “Angie’ Vargas Mireles began on the 22nd day of February, in the year of 1926. She lived 88 years in Houston, TX. Throughout her life, Angelita was affectionately known by many names. Angelita, Mija, Angel, Angie, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Angel, & Ms. Angie are how many will remember her. A devout Christian, Angelita was an active member of El Mesias Methodist Church in Houston, Texas for decades. She enjoyed traveling & spending time with loved ones. On the 3rd day of October, this year of 2021, Angelita Vargas Mireles breathed her last breath in the arms of her Great-Niece & devoted caregiver, Dallas Hanson. Soaring to the Heavens with The Father on a pair of glistening wings, living up to the name bestowed upon her at birth….. Angelita.

After 95 blessed years full of life, our beloved Angelita has entered into eternal rest joining her husband Arthur Mireles Sr.; sons Arthur Jr. Mireles & David Mireles; Her parents Florencio & Tomasita Vargas; siblings Maximilillo Vargas, Mateo Vargas, Elojillo Vargas, Celestina Vargas, Jesse Vargas, & Antonia Alvarez

Angelita is survived by daughter-in-law Lenore Mireles; granddaughter Lisa Mireles; granddaughter Jennifer Pottish, her husband Dashiell, their new daughter Faye; sister Frances Vargas Luna; numerous nephews, nieces, & dear friends.

A visitation for Angelita will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
