Anita De La Cruz Rodriguez

Anita Rodriguez De La Cruz was born on December 9, 1936 in Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Luis Rodriguez and Santos De La Cruz. At age 83, she went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Israel Rodriguez, brother Guadalupe Rodriguez De La Cruz, nephew Luis Sanchez and great nephew Adam Uzzell.

Anita is survived by her sister Maria Magdalena De La Garza, nieces and nephews: Rosa Rodriguez and husband Jose Alvarez; Maria Virgilia Sanchez and husband Enrique Cabrera; Eduardo Sanchez and wife Tina Sanchez; Marcella Uzzell and husband Donald Uzzell; Mimi Velsquez; and Sandra De La Garza.

Anita was a beloved aunt who took pride in caring for her nieces and nephews as children and a beloved great aunt to her nieces and nephew's children, whom she dearly adored and look forward to seeing during visits. She dedicated her life to service and care of others which included her elderly Mother, until the time of her death. She was a devoted wife until her husband's passing and since then, devoted her time to prayer and church service. She was overjoyed to finally reunite with her older sister, Magdalena, when she finally joined her family in Texas after many years of living in Mexico on her own. Anita always had kind words for others and was eager to spread the joy and love of Jesus to anyone she met. She was often found praying the rosary and reading the bible until the day she was called by the Lord to come home. She will be dearly missed by her family.

A visitation will be held on Forest Park Lawndale at 6900 Lawndale St on Wednesday at 11 am to 12pm. Only 25 people will be allowed in and ask that no children be present due to COVID. A funeral service will be held on the same day at 1pm at Forest Park Westheimer on 12800 Westheimer Rd.
