Anita Lopez Gonzalez was born in Pasadena, Texas, to her parents, Jesse and Guadalupe Lopez, both of whom are in the presence of our Lord. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lopez were blessed to have five daughters of whom Anita was their youngest. We give thanks to our Savior for gracing us with His daughter, Anita, for 60 years. As we thought of how Anita might want you to remember her, being an unpretentious person, it would not be for her accolades, or worldly accomplishments, but rather, simply and humbly, she would want to be remembered as a devoted wife to her husband whom she dearly loved, a wonderful mother who loved her sons deeply and would do anything for them, a grandmother who doted and lavished attention on her grandchildren, a sister who dearly loved her sisters, and a friend that cared about her friends. This was Anita. She would also want you to know how much she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She never stopped sharing her love of the Lord with her family and friends, and the most important day in her life was the day she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She loved reading the bible, and her faith in the Lord remained strong and steadfast to the end. She was an inspiration to many, and especially to her family. Anita is survived and deeply mourned by her husband Esteban Gonzalez; her four sons, Johnny Escalante, Christopher Escalante, Michael Escalante and Hector Gongora Jr.; her four sisters, Janie Garza, Virginia Bellard, Julie Nathan, and Geneva Granados; her brothers-in-law, Oliver Bellard, Pradan Nathan, and Andrew Granados; daughters-in-law Cheyenne Escalante, Janie Escalante, Estella Diaz-Escalante; her grandchildren, Christopher Jason, Mariah, Isaac, Michelle, Michael Jr., and Mary. Additional grandchildren, Isaiah, Aylin, Alexa, Annelise. Having fulfilled her God-given tasks the Lord said, “Well done, good and faithful servant…come and share your Master’s happiness.”
