Annemarie Sharpless

Annemarie Weichenrieder Sharpless, age 74 of Seabrook, TX passed away on September 6, 2012. Annemarie was born on August 21, 1938 in Freising, Germany. She grew up there and studied decorating in school. Her talent and training were well-used when she went to work designing store windows for a local department store. She soon met the handsome, American airman who became the love of her life and husband of 55 years. They had a daughter, moved to the U.S. and had two sons together. After being a stay-at-home mother for several years, she began a successful 25-year career in banking. Although she spoke English as her second language, through her hard work and diligence, she worked her way from bookkeeper to President and CEO of Enterprise Financial Services. Annemarie took great pride in her career success, but her deepest love and devotion was to her family and friends. She touched people along the entire path of her life and made friends wherever she went. She could go to the grocery store for three items and have five new friends before she got through the checkout line. To know her was to love her, and to be loved by her was an indescribable feeling. She was an industrious person, always baking, sewing, cooking, gardening and planning new projects around the house. Many of her loved ones are comfortable in the winter, wearing slippers that she knitted for them. Annemarie had many health concerns in her lifetime and suffered in recent years more than most people knew, yet she never let it ground her mind and body. Those who knew her witnessed an incredible example of suffering with dignity and grace, which was only one of the many lessons she taught. The loss that is felt by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her will never go away, but we are comforted by the knowledge that her earthly suffering is finally over and she is with our Lord and the Blessed Mother. We have been abundantly blessed to have had her in our lives and for that we will be eternally grateful. Annemarie is survived by her devoted husband, Charles, daughter, Annemarie and husband Kevin, son, Charles and wife Lori, son, Kenneth, grandchildren, Joanna Cannizzaro and husband Patrick, Rachel Luczak and husband Greg, Sean, Christine and Austin Crowley, Laurel and Lindsey Sharpless, Kenny, Christopher and Lauren Sharpless, and great-grandchildren, Evan Luczak, and baby GB (Gummy Bear) due on December 3, 2012. Pallbearers will be Charles Sharpless III, Kenneth Sharpless, Sean Crowley, Kenneth Sharpless Jr., Austin Crowley and Christopher Sharpless.
