

Annie Mae, 94, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hermann Hospital on Tuesday, September 2nd. She was born in Houston, Texas. She was in the Drum & Bugle Corp. in Highschool. She worked as a telephone operator and Cadmus Grocery Store (a family-owned business) in Houston.
In 1951, Annie Mae met the love of her life, Royce Gest, at Bill Mraz Ballroom. They later married on Valentine’s Day in 1953 and enjoyed 69 years of marriage until his death in 2022. Annie Mae became a full-time homemaker and devoted her life to her family. She hardly ever told anyone “no” and the way to make her happy was to eat. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Annie Mae (mama, nanie) loved her family greatly and she will be missed beyond measure.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosie Leggio; husband Royce; grandson David; brother Frank and sister Mary Rose Post. She is survived by sons Royce J (Barbara) and Michael L; daughter Rose Ann Canik (Larry); grandchildren Royce Paul (Jackie), Cindy, Michael (Jenna), Tina, Linda, Jennifer (Lucian), Angela (Kevin), and Sarah; great-grandchildren Marie, Evelyn, Luke, Matthew, Shane, Jacob, Nathaniel, Rebecca, Kaitlyn, and David, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on September 9, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for September 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
The committal service will follow on September 10, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
