

On February 15, 1943, in Houston, Texas, a baby girl was born to Luvenia Hoxie and John Gage. They named her Annie Carol. She was baptized and received Christ as her savior at an early age at Greater Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Annie Carol attended the public schools in Houston, Texas and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1963. After graduating, she worked at the historic Rice Hotel in downtown Houston. Annie Carol later began her career at Southwestern Bell until it became AT&T. She retired after 42 years of Service. In her retirement years, she continued her love for reading, watching her favorite soap operas, and enjoying her family and friends until God called her home October 12, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Luvenia Hoxie Scranton, father John Gage, sister, Odessa Daniels, brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Scranton, grandmother, Lottie Fantop, grandfather, John Hoxie, grandmother, Lillie Hoxie, aunt, Annie Mae Clark, and uncle, Herman Fantop, and nephew, Robert Daniels.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Linda Davis, Anita Wyatt (Andy), Janet Curry (Kirk), Donna Kay Lynch, Patricia Ruffins, Sandra Walker, one brother, Robert James Scranton Jr., uncle John Hoxie, aunts Patricia Walker and Andrea Hoxie, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
