

Anthony T. Serrano, 85, loving husband, father, and friend passed away on Monday the 21st of August 2023. He was born on Labor Day in 1937 in Texas City, Texas to Camilo and Prisca Serrano. Tony was preceded in death his parents and his sisters, Otilia Pedraza, Irene Coffee, Anna Olivares, and Sr. Christine Marie Serrano, and his brothers, Henry Serrano and Jimmy F. Serrano. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucile Serrano, his son, Thomas A. Serrano, and his daughter, Stephanie A. Serrano, his twin brother, Charles C. Serrano and his wife Concepcion, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Tony was born on the 6th of September 1937 in Texas City, Texas where he attended and graduated from school. Following a short period of time at the University of Houston, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1958 until 1962. After his honorable discharge, Tony went to work for the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 30 years as a civil engineer until his retirement in 1992. In his retirement, Tony loved genealogy and was proud that he could trace his family lineage back to the 15th century when his family first came to Mexico. He and Lucy enjoyed many trips to Salt Lake City, Utah and Mexico, he generally enjoyed traveling anywhere, even the casinos where he always wore his lucky jacket. One of his most loved trips was to Madrid, Spain in 2013 which was an anniversary gift from his children.
Visitation will be held on Saturday the 26th of August 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m with Justin Tanner as the Celebrant of Life. The graveside and burial service will follow at Forest Park East via funeral procession.
