After completing high school, he attended Texas A & M University where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, he served in combat in Korea during the Korean War as a 1st lieutenant in the United States Army.
After he completed his military service, he went to work at Hughes Tool Company as an industrial engineer. In his early 40’s, Ted changed careers and became a stockbroker for E.F. Hutton due to his deep interest in the stock market. As with everything he did, Ted was a dedicated and compulsive worker who always placed an emphasis on dispensing his knowledge and experience with integrity.
Ted not only derived great joy from teaching people about the stock market, but he loved to discuss issues such as politics, ethics and religion. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and he was a Mason who achieved the highest status of a Shriner.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents Theodore Aristotle Pappas and Anna (Popovich) Pappas; brothers James Theodore Pappas and William Theodore Pappas.
Through his brother James, Ted is survived by his niece Theodora Pappas Coleman (Chris Coleman) and son James, as well as his sister-in-law Despina Mallios.
Through his brother William, Ted is survived by his niece Tiffany (Pappas) Daniels (David Daniels) and their children Grant (Laine Daniels with children June and Otto), Pearson and Jenna; nephew Shannon Pappas (Karen Pappas) and their children Samuel, Anna, Maya and Kayla; and nephew Matthew Pappas.
Through his mother, he is survived by his first cousin once removed Petro Yuanidis (Maro Yuanidis) and their children Daphne and Alexander.
A special thank you from niece Theodora to Javier and Dora Contreras, William, Margaret and Adela Tischina and Despina Mallios for the extraordinary friendship and care that they gave Ted in both good times and in bad.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Coleman, Javier Contreras, William Tischina, Matthew Pappas, Elijah Hinojosa and David Doenges. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Larry Arnold.
