Armando Garza

He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1971. Soon after graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Galveston, TX. While in the service he attended diesel school. He also completed Disaster Recovery Training and Sea and Air Rescue. He spent 4 years with the U.S. Coast Guard as a Petty Officer/Sea Man with honorable discharge. He received a National Defense Service Medal and a First Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal. He worked for Harris County Precinct 1 for 28 years as a Master Mechanic and maintenance shop foreman. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, building furniture, avid dog lover and keeping up on his cars maintenance.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Garza of 48 years; daughter, Alicia Griffiths and son-in-law, Michael Griffiths of Jarrell, TX; four grandchildren, Jordan, Donovan, Vincent, and Michael Jr. Griffiths; youngest daughter, Angela Garza of Spring, TX; sister, Lina Delgado and brother-in-law Roland Delgado; oldest brother, Adam Garza and his wife Joanna Sims of Rochester, NY.
