Armando Rodriguez

Armando Rodriguez died peacefully with family at his side on December 18, 2013, at the age of 80, entering into eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Maria Eva Rodriguez. He is survived by his 5 children: son Armando Rodriguez, Jr and wife Maria, daughter Rosa Nelly Rodriguez and husband Gustavo, daughter Rosalva Almendarez and husband Elias, daughter Maricela Mamott and husband David, and daughter Yolanda Sandoval and husband Roy. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was born on May 23, 1933, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. His parents were Guadalupe and Maria Concepcion Rodriguez. After receiving only an elementary education, he began to work at a market to help his parents. This was the beginning of a life full of hard, physical work…..from picking cotton, to bus driver, to construction worker, welder and machinist. He never shied away from hard, physical work. With love, he exemplified what it took to support and maintain a close knit family. Armando was known for telling stories from long ago and for his light hearted jokes. He will be greatly missed by those whom he loved and loved him. Armando will be laid to rest with his eternal love, Maria Eva, on Sunday December 22, 2013 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, Houston, Texas. Visitation is at noon, Rosary at 1pm, Service at 2pm, followed by interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
