Hello, my name is Michael Connell. I was in the PA program at Rutgers University with Arnie. Arnie and I kept in touch fairly closely for many years. After he moved to Texas we lost touch. I remember Arnie through the many chapters of his PA career. Arnie and I had a certain kinship. I don't think that either one of us ever really found his niche in medicine, but we certainly had a lot of fun, many adventures and many addresses along the way. Arnie was always kind to me, always a friend to me. Periodically I would "Google" him to see what he was up to. This afternoon while doing just that I learned of his passing. He appears to have found considerable happiness with his family. It gladdens me to see that he was so happy with his wife and daughter. I know that he loved his son Jake very much too. 

Arnie worked for me for over 10 years.  It was an honor to work with this amazing man, who was so much more than just an employee, he was my dear friend.  Arnie dedicated his entire life to helping others, patiently, and genuinely.  This was what made him so special.  He truly cared for his patients.  His drive and passion for academia was in his blood.  I will miss hearing the stories of his new endeavors, and his passion for learning because it was so contagious.  I can't remember a conversation that did not include how important his family was to him.  He always made sure to tell me which Saturdays he needed time off from work, because he had a day date with his wife.  How special.  Above all, I will miss hearing the voice on the other end of the phone that made me laugh.  His sense of humor brightened my day, and his laugh...oh how he liked to laugh!  I will miss him.  My heart goes out to his wonderful family during this time.

  I heard about your passing through the grape vine. I am saddened to hear the news. You will be missed. It was an honor and a pleasure getting to work along side you. May you rest in peace.
