Athena Thompson went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2012 at the age of 82. She was the first born to the late George Manos and Ester Manos on June 22, 1929. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Dan Thompson. She is survived by her children Gil and Gary Thompson and Daughter in laws Carrie and Gloria Thompson. Her Grandchildren are Denice Thompson and Jonathan Lutz. Great Grandchildren: Taylor and Emily Thompson. She has two brothers: George and Mickey Manos and sister: April Diane. Nieces and Nephews are Michelle, Melissa, Alex, Debbie, Cindy, Patty, Penny and Frank. She was a long term member of the Methodist Church in Friendswood. She was known for her amazing chocolate chip cookies and never did tell the family her secret recipe. Athena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm. Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10am in the Family Chapel with interment to follow.
