while under hospice care. She was born September 7, 1929 in Turkey, Texas. Audrey married the love
of her life, Bill Baker, on August 10, 1946. They were married for 67 years when Bill passed away in
2014. Audrey and Bill had four children: Vickie, Robert, Ronnie, and Pat. She worked for Spring ISD
administration for over 20 years as head of Textbooks, Testing, and Curriculum Materials. Audrey loved
children and was passionate about education.
Audrey loved parties and always had a smile for those around her. Even during her final years with
Alzheimer’s, she always had a smile and kind words for everyone. She loved Bill Baker with all her heart
and continued to talk about him daily.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billie Bruce Baker, her son Robert Bruce Baker, parents Earl
Bailey and Nona Finley; and her sister Dean Jones. She is survived by her children: daughter Vickie
Messer and her husband Frank; son Ronnie Baker and his wife Beth; and son Pat and his wife Barbara;
eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters, numerous nieces
and nephews, and many wonderful friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and
friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday December 29th from 5 – 7:30pm. The funeral will follow on
Monday December 30th at 10:00am. The services will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral
Home at 13102 North Freeway, Houston, 77060.
