Doretta was my baptismal sponsor. She prayed for me and guided my faith journey with gifts to nurture my spiritual growth. I knew she was always there for me. Doretta and Jimmy were close friends of my parents, Joe and Earlene Fisher. I have many memories of fun times with Doretta, Jimmy, Rick, and Jan. When my parents went home to heaven, I could count on Jimmy and Doretta to love me as one of their own. I loved Doretta's sense of humor, her hospitality, and I admired her perseverance through her own physical pain. Doretta was one in a million, for sure. My love to Jimmy, Rick, and Jan.

Dear Mr Adams, Jim and Jan,

I am saddened to learn of the loss of Boots. I have so many fond memories of her from my childhood. From her hot cocoa in a cauldron on Halloween night to being there the night of my dad's untimely death. I have held her dear in my heart because one never forgets when someone special, like Boots was there to hold up our family during that time. She is certainly in heaven and I feel privileged to have known her.

Nannie Boots was a very special lady, she watched our two daughters when they where growing up, When our youngest daughter, Crystal got ill and could not walk, Boots was with us through it all. Crystal had surgery, a very long stay at the hospital, and one year in a wheel chair. Boots stayed with us the entire time and got us all through it. She was a beautiful person and touched so many hearts. We love her and Jimmy so much, she will be forever missed. Charles & Jeannie Stallings

Nanny Boots was a very special person in my life. Every memory and photo I have while growing up has her in it. She showed me how to love people and be kind. I loved going to the beach house with her and paw-paw Jimmy. We would always walk the beach looking for shells. My happiest memories were made with her. She will be truly missed. I will always miss you and love you Nanny Boots.

Dear Jim and Jan, Mom and I are so sorry to hear this about Boots. I know she isn't hurting anymore and is organizing the play grounds and getting the badeba;; field ready upstairs and helping in anyway she can for the big Man upstairs..With out her the world will be a sadder place. We wouldn't have the new play ground equipment at Melrose Park with out her....Thoughts and prayers to you both.

Life brings many surprises - one of mine was knowing Boots and sharing her life! She was a remarkable role model whose smile and humor brought out the best of every person she ever met. I ask Our Lord to comfort the family and grant them peace during this most difficult time!
