

Barbara’s parents were Oyied and Helen Oliver. She was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School of Houston and received a bachelor of business administration from the University of Houston. Later in life she earned her Certified Public Accountant designation.
She contributed to her country as a public servant by working for the federal government as an auditor of the IRS. After retirement, she volunteered countless hours for her church, Fishers of Men Lutheran Church of Sugar Land, where she was a member for 18 years. She also served as president of her local chapter of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of Texas. Barbara was involved with Bible Study Fellowship. She loved needle point, gardening and playing the piano. She was committed to her children and loved doting on her three grandchildren.
She is survived by son-in-law and daughter Tom and Karen Hale, son Michael Boehnke and daughter Susan Boehnke, as well as grandchildren Grant, Morgan and Carter Hale. She was deeply loved and is greatly missed.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
