Barbara Gale Kettler, 69, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on October 15, 2026. Born February 14, 1957, Barbara lived with a spirited sense of possibility—meeting life with courage, steady faith, and a warmth that made others feel immediately at ease.
Barbara attended Scarborough High School, where the foundations of her hard-working nature and honest, down-to-earth way of being were already evident—qualities she carried forward throughout her life with quiet strength and unmistakable integrity.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her kind heart and compassionate presence, as well as the humor she could summon at just the right moment. Adventurous in spirit and brave in the face of life’s turns, she found joy in simple, life-giving pleasures: sports, the beach, and dancing—always ready to embrace the moment and share it with others. Her love for animals ran deep, especially for dogs and her cat, Angel, reflecting the gentle care she so naturally extended to the world around her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Henry Kettler and Virginia Lee Kettler, and her brother, Donald Wayne Kettler. She is survived by her siblings, Ronald Lynn Kettler (spouse Michelle Kettler) and Michael Ray Kettler; and nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend, Carole Jane Self.
A Committal Service will be held at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on November 5, 2026, at 11:00am.
In Lieu of Flowers, family and friends are asked to donate to Abandoned Animal Rescue - A No Kill Animal Shelter: www.AAR.Texas.org, 281-789-4142, 32632 Wright Rd, Magnolia, Texas 77355.
