

Barbara Pauline Walker was born April 19, 1927 to the late Clarence Albert and Rosa Rorex Teeter in Alcoa, Tennessee. She professed Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Alcoa, Tennessee. Whereas she later became an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in St. Albans, New York for over 50 years until she moved to Cypress, Texas in 2011. She served as President of the Altar Guild and was a pillar for many years. Barbara graduated from Charles M. Hall High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University , Nashville, Tennessee in 1949. Soon after graduation she moved to New York City to pursue her career. Barbara met the love of her life, Henry Lee Walker and they were united in Holy matrimony on June 23, 1951 in Harlem, New York. To this union one child was born, Garret Albert Walker (Chucky). Barbara was employed by the Veterans Administration in New York City for 33 years. She received numerous honors during her tenure. She held the title of Supervisor, Medical Claims Department upon retirement. Barbara was an avid bridge player. She was a bridge club member in St. Albans, New York for many years. Whereby they travelled to tournaments in various cities and states. She loved hosting friends and family in their home. She and her family loved travelling back to Alcoa, Tennessee especially during the Christmas holidays. Barbara entered eternal rest on May 14, 2015 at North Cypress Medical Center in Cypress, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Albert and Rosa Rorex Teeter, and brothers, Kenneth Gordon Teeter and Clarence Ralph (C.R.) Teeter. She leaves to cherish her legacy to her devoted husband. Henry, her devoted son, Garret (Chucky), daughter-in-law, Emma , grandson, Greg Cummings and a host of relatives and friends.
