Bartley Merrill Guinn, 82, went to live in Heaven with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on December 2, 2023. He was born in Houston, Texas, on September 18, 1941, to Sibyl Lee Hubbert Guinn and Fillmore Chesley Guinn.
He grew up with a strong faith that guided him throughout his life. Bartley graduated from Reagan High School, received a BBA from Sam Houston State University, and served honorably in the United States Air Force. After college, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, and they built a family and a life dedicated to Jesus and family. Having a family based on core Christian values has always been important to him. For new opportunities, they relocated, settled, and established the family home in the Dallas, Texas area. He had a successful career in supply chain management with several tier 1 technology companies where he established friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Bartley bases his life on the principles of faith, resilience, and steadfast optimism. His motto, "Never Give Up," has guided him through challenges and triumphs. He is known by many as a “Warrior”. He enjoys reading and studying his Bible daily and sharing scriptures of encouragement and salvation with others. Bartley is a longtime member and supporter of Prestonwood Baptist Church, in Plano, TX, and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
The family ranch, Cat Creek, a testament to his love for the outdoors, is a gathering place for family, filled with laughter and warmth. He enjoys working on the ranch, tending to his cattle, operating one of his several tractors, and building big bonfires. He loves learning and is blessed with a curiosity to understand all things, big and small. He always has a funny story to tell, with a twinkle in his eye, that lets you know something funny is coming. He enjoys travel with family, playing golf, and just being with the people he loves.
As a husband, Dad, Daddy, and G-Daddy, he is a source of unwavering love and support. He instilled in his children and grandson the values of faith, positivity, integrity, compassion, and perseverance. He is a mentor and guide, always encouraging them to pursue their goals and face challenges with courage and determination.
He is deeply missed by his loving family, including his wife of 60 years, Lita Pearl Lamberth Guinn; son, Wade Carlton Guinn (and DIL Sarah); daughter, Marilyn Carol Guinn Skaf (and son-in-law Rashid); grandson, Christian Wadih Skaf; brother, Charles F. Guinn (and sister-in-law Norma); niece, Sharla Jean Guinn; nephews, Charles Bartley Guinn (Maria & grandnephew Max), Craig Gentry (Katie), Steven Gentry, Ross Lamberth, Jeff Lamberth (Paula), and dear friend, Tommy Randle.
Bartley's life has impacted countless people. He has always been known for his infectious smile, wit, genuine kindness, and willingness to help others. As a mentor and advisor to many, he has shared his
wisdom and experience with generosity. His legacy of faith, love, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire those who know him. DDD. ODAT. Never Far.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, December 14, 2023, at Earthman Resthaven, Houston, Texas.
A graveside service for Bartley will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
