Bernice was very active in Worship and service at Trinity Lutheran Church, downtown Houston and was an active member of the Ladies’ Circle and with the senior bus trips. Bernice’s children best remember their mother for her great home cooking, big hearted generosity and was known as “Me-ma” by everyone. There were no strangers. Everyone had a place at the dinner table. She loved to sew for others and loved to decorate for the holidays. She often won yard of the month and first place for Christmas decorations. Gardening was her passion and hobby. She had a touch for flowers, especially red geraniums. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and by loving her husband Louis, Sr. She is survived by her beloved cousin Margie Kunkel; her children; Shirley Keng and her husband Tommy, Louis Boessling, Jr. and wife Geneva, Donna Mullings and husband Ed, Jerry Boessling and Keith Boessling; Grandchildren, Tom Keng, Craig Keng, Mark Baughman, Jason Baughman, Kristen Mullen; Great-grandchildren; Tristan Baughman, Aidan Mullen, Noah Mullen, Christopher Keng, Codi Keng, and Devan Keng; and one Great-great-grandchild; Caleb Keng. Lord Jesus: Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies. Heav’n’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. [LSB 878, Abide With Me]
