
Bessie Mae Thomas, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 104. She was born January 29, 1911 in Hopkins County, Texas. Bessie Mae grew up in NE Texas with five brothers and four sisters and graduated High School in Pittsburg, Texas. She married Herbert Parker and moves to Tulsa, OK in 1932. She had her first son, Richard E. Parker in 1936. They all later moved to Houston, Texas. Bessie Mae lost her husband Herbert in 1941. Bessie Mae married again in 1944 to A.D. Thomas and had two more children Elaine Thomas and Terry Thomas. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and is survived by Brother Jack Junell, son Richard Parker and wife Myrna, daughter Elaine Thomas, son Terry Thomas and wife Jeffrie, grandchildren Mike Parker and wife Tracey, Lisa Parker Piper and Husband Nick, great-grandchildren Mason and Rachel Parker and Angus and Kiera Piper. Crafting, knitting, crocheting and quilting for family and friends played a loving role in her life. Her days at Austin High School in Houston as a cashier in the school lunch room giving back to the kids she loved was a very proud time for her. Church always played an important role in her life; whether it was attending Sunday services or playing table domino games her church friends and family. Visitation will begin at 1pm followed by a Memorial service at 2pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
