Bettie Bain Bell

Bettie Bell died at her home on Friday, May 6th, surrounded by family, caregivers, and friends. Her life will be celebrated this Saturday, May 14th, at 2 p.m. at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. A longtime member of Oaks Christian Church, she served her congregation and community in many forms of ministry including support of MANNA, chairing the Disciples Women, and serving as an Elder to Oaks where she fondly spoke of those who had been her mentors and colleagues in her Christian life and learning. Formerly a school secretary, she participated in a variety of school activities even after her own children had finished their educations. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wendon Eugene Bell, and her parents Harley and Louise Cook Bain. She is survived by her son, Wendon, Jr., and daughters Sharon Collier and Denise Huey, granddaughters, two great-grandsons, cousins, and a large host of friends, including the community of the Gardens at Spring Shadows.
